Top 5 Animation Movie Quotes

Day after day, I come to see more reasons of why I love animation movies. Besides being an Animation movie geek, I am also a bit of a book worm. I have always loved reading English novels. The joy of reading a novel is indeed incomparable. So while I read through one of the English literature's masterpieces, God knows there are so many, I took the habit of writing catchy phrases and quotes in a notebook. And I would often go back to that notebook and browse through the whole collection.

Lately, I have found myself doing the same with animation movies. In general, movies are much like novels; they have many aspects in common. In fact, a movie is a novel processed through your imagination (making you the director and all). The majority of people are deeply familiar with the differences between a movie and a novel. What I would like to emphasize here, however, is that both the movie and novel are written. The screenwriter, like a novelist, works the magic of his/her storytelling skills to turn a brilliant idea into an amazing master piece. Hence, there can be as much of wisdom in a movie as in a novel. Here is the top 5 list of the best movie script excerpts ever. Enjoy!

“You need to understand something, lads. Our losses have been heavy, catastrophic. You're all we've got! And so today we fight for our country. Tomorrow our feathers may be plucked from our lifeless bodies, our innards spread like jam on toast, And our bones fed to rabid weasels. But never mind that. On this day, in this place, let it forever be known that you, pigeons did your part in the heroic battle for... Freedom”

3 - A Bug's Life: Flik's Speech Against the Grasshoppers

"You're wrong, Hopper. Ants are not meant to serve grasshoppers. I've seen ants do great things, and year after year, they somehow manage to pick enough food for themselves and you. So-so who's weaker species? Ants don't serve grasshoppers! It's you who need us! We're a lot stronger than you say we are. And you know it, don't you?

1 - Ratatouille: Anton Ego's Work of a Critic

"In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new: an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconception about fine cooking is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau's famous motto,"Anyone can cook" but I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Gusteau's, who is, in this critics opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in France. I will be returning to Gusteau's soon, hungry for more."
